 Angel Delight: Banana 59g (Premier Ambient Products)  It's been many years since I last sampled an Angel Delight, and prompted by the recent Supersizers Go… TV series I felt an urge for one once more. I opted for the Banana flavour from the range and, making sure we’d got enough milk, got to work.
The making of it couldn’t be simpler. Measure out your half pint (300ml) of milk and pour into a bowl. Then add the powder. I fully expected I’d be stirring round a bowl full of lumps for the next 15 minutes, but was very pleased to see it dissolved into the milk perfectly. I did use a proper whisk here so the correct tools for the job may have helped. The instructions state that no refrigeration is necessary and that just leaving to stand for 5 minutes at room temperature is enough, but I wouldn’t recommend it. My motto has always been ‘if something’s worth doing, it’s worth doing well’ so I’d advise being a little patient and putting it in the fridge for an hour. Having eaten the first packet in a half at room temperature, half refrigerated manner, I made the second packet up in a fully chilled style. I ate the whole lot out of a Tupperware bowl whilst watching World At War (Siege of Stalingrad).
