Sick Electric - Death by Electrocution(Independent)
Leaving behind the hackneyed riffs and deathprog of old, ditching the gorefest titles of “My Love Is A Severed head” and “Heavy Hammer Soft Brains” this offering, while the title might yearn for worse days, has a maturity and melody that show a band maturing well. Like a ripe old cheese; stinky, but a delicious delicacy, none the less. “On The Loose” is practically poppy, although the Sabbath stabs are still there. “White Lightning” is the kind of fist in the air anthem you might find accompanying your next rail grab on “Tony Hawks” and fucked-up surf track “Illegitimate Sun” had me up on the ironing board and dreaming of Bondi. Death by Electrocution is no shocker and there’s many a rocker who is powered by Sick Electric.
