A little Q&A with singer-songwriter-musician Daniel Moore.

Leicester Bangs: Tell us a little about yourself.
Daniel: I’m the author / composer of "Shambala" by Three Dog Night, co-writer of "My Maria" by Brooks & Dunn and B.W. Stevenson. I’ve had nine songs recorded by Joe Cocker, other songs recorded by Bonnie Raitt, The Band, Levon Helm, Waylon Jennings, Jerry Jeff Walker, Canned Heat, Kim Carnes, and many others.

LB: How did you start out making music?
Daniel: My father was preacher, my mother played piano for church. I was surrounded by music from an early age.

LB: Who did you grow up listening to and how do they influence what you’re doing now?
Daniel: I listened to all kinds of music; folk music, big band music, rock ‘n’ roll, blues, country and pop.

LB: Tell us about your latest release.
Daniel: It’s a digital release only until the CD is released in the middle of July. "Fittin' To Go Off" is a collection of new and old songs that I'm pleased with. File it under Rock / Pop / Blues / Folk.

LB: Do you get out and play your music live?
Daniel: I'm just writing and recording these days.

LB: What aspects of playing and recording music do you most enjoy?
Daniel: I most enjoy completing recordings of new songs.

LB: Where can people find (and buy) your music?
Daniel: CD Baby, iTunes, Amazon, Napster, Rhapsody, Zune, MediaNet, Liquid Digital and Spotify. Some links:
