Steven Deal - Radio Twelve (Seditionary Kitten) Pop punk in the Bob Mould style makes for a whirlwind debut solo album for ex-Chopper Steven Deal. The lyrics may be bitter and twisted, but the ear for a catchy turn of musical phrase makes this rise above the usual singer-songwriter whining. Deal has played with the excellent Naomi Star and many of the tracks on this alum could be lifted onto a Star collection, with their Fab Four melodies and disarming, charming camouflage. Check out “Boyslut” and “Where I Wanna Be” for aural flossing of the nicest kind.
