Hampa & The Charms - C’Mon Everybody (Brambus)
Swiss rockers, Hampa & The Charms, sound like a great night out. You know the sort of thing; beer is drunk, middle-age men shake a leg, and the band do the decent thing and only play songs you know. Their latest kicks off with the classic Eddie Cochran title track, before rattling through a whole host of party favourites, from Pink’s thoroughly appropriate “Get The Party Started” to Little Richard’s “Long Tall Sally”. The band are obviously intent on having the best time possible and it rubs off on the listener. I wouldn’t want to file it under “highbrow listening”, and you probably need to be there for the maximum effect, but it makes a tasty accompaiment to alfresco summer gluttony.
