Experimenter En Couleur – Testing The Wheel (Audio Architecture)
Sounding not unlike Peter Thomas Sound Orchester’s sci-fi work or Louis and Bebe Barron’s Forbidden Planet soundtrack (the latter was marketed upon its original release as a sound effects album), Experimenter En Couleur presents a 12-track collection of retro, analogue otherworldliness. Mostly tune-free and seemingly without structure, these pieces instead rely on perfectly executed atmospherics – close your eyes and these electronic sounds put you wherever and whenever you want to be. How mere beeps and drones can be arranged in such a way that it can alter both mood and perception is a mystery, the answer to which is known only by a few. The sentient being behind Experimenter En Couleur is au fait with the process. Highlights? There are many, but this is an album to put on and lose yourself. There’s no need for further programming - Experimenter En Couleur has done the hard work for you.
