The Organ Beats - Sleep When We Are Dead (Independent) My kids tell me that “Time To Go” is their favourite track on this accomplished soft–punk offering from this talented sibling-led trio from Massachusetts. There's an Avril Lavigne inspired suburban angsty turn to the songs, A Weezer–ish churn to my favourite track, “Happy Birthday” and a power pop vibe of motivation and strength in every cut. It's great to hear a female vocal that is so striking, aggressive, tuneful and bloody listenable. The record is short and sweet, melodic and dynamic. Listen, if you are young or young at heart, to a collection that hasn't been auto tuned out of existence, which conjures images of guitar heroics and teenage tantrums.
