The Organ Beats - Sleep When We Are Dead (Independent)
My kids tell me that “Time To Go” is their favourite track on this accomplished soft–punk offering from this talented sibling-led trio from Massachusetts. There's an Avril Lavigne inspired suburban angsty turn to the songs, A Weezer–ish churn to my favourite track, “Happy Birthday” and a power pop vibe of motivation and strength in every cut. It's great to hear a female vocal that is so striking, aggressive, tuneful and bloody listenable. The record is short and sweet, melodic and dynamic.

Listen, if you are young or young at heart, to a collection that hasn't been auto tuned out of existence, which conjures images of guitar heroics and teenage tantrums. The Organ Beats are polished, but not as polite as the grammar of the album's title suggests.
