Various Artists - Introducing The Words And Music: Nashville Artists (Adroit) This is a sampler of ten Nashville singer-songwriters. The idea is good in principle, as it allows these artists to sing and showcase their own songs, even though several of them have written hits for other artists, both in the American country and pop charts. However, it doesn't really work for me. Each song is too similar to the others, and because each artist is given one song each, it doesn't allow them to show their breadth of writing. The biggest name is Vince Melamed who has written several big hits in the USA and has worked with The Eagles and Dylan, amongst others. He records his version of the country hit he wrote for Trisha Yearwood "Walkaway Joe". The trouble is her version is a better recording.
