Black Pus Zero – Ultimate Beat Off, is the fourth 4-track, self-released CD-r (with fantastic silk-screen cover art) on Diarreah records (previously noted as DiareahRama or Diarrhea Records). Black Pus is the solo project of Brian Chippendale - best known as the drummer / vocalist for the noise-rock duo Lightning Bolt and member of Mindflayer, which started life as a fake band art installation. Mixed exceptionally loudly (presumably in an attempt to match their live 3000 watts of amplification!), Ultimate Beat Off is essentially three extended and brutally hammered noise jazz freak outs. First and foremost is the furious and complex drumming. To the thrumming bass an indistinguishable mixture of screamed saxophone, caustic vocals and destruction keyboards are thrown into the furor.
