Bruce Williams – Blues At Red Barn (Highland Lake Records)
From: USA
Genre: Electric Blues / Rock
Influences: Buddy Guy, Chicago Blues.
The Word: “Guitarist-songwriter Bruce Williams was raised in a musical family, thanks mainly to his mother Aileen, who taught piano, played string bass and was a pipe organ player and choir director in her distinguished musical career. Starting on the ukulele, Bruce got his first guitar at age 14 as a Christmas gift from his parents. Drawn to the blues at an early age, Bruce found his way to the blues bars on Chicago’s south and west side in 1969. There he won over the local blues musicians and over the next several years was a sideman for such stars as, Lefty Dizz, Junior Wells, Jimmy “Fast Fingers” Dawkins and Mark Hannon. Along the way he began writing songs and recording demos in his home studio. Bruce currently fronts his own band and treats his audiences to his original songs, as well as unique interpretations of songs written by others.
‘Blues At Red Barn’ is a collection of Bruce Williams originals featuring some illustrious guest musicians and was recorded at Highland Lake Records over the last few years..”
